Landulph super stars get ready for the big race

Landulph have travelled all the way to Dobwalls, for their remarkable race at 3 pm on Friday the 10th November. In preparation, the children will stretch their super legs for the huge cross country race.

They started training at Cotehele with Kathy Hudson, John Granger, Julie Cronin and Celia Gorham. Harriet the Hare Congdon managed fifth place and Olympic Olivia Wyman crossed the line in twelfth place.

Our next race will be Liskeard on the 24th of November. Watch this space. We are currently training very hard.

Landulph Cross-Country – More Success!

In a cross-country race at minions Landulph School runners had a FANTASTIC! result from Harriet Congdon in the place of 5th for years 3-4 girls. We had many excellent results on the day; the senior girls were exceptionally good. There were also lots of great efforts in both of the boy’s races. Also our cross-country team will be looking forward to race at Boconnoc: the first eight will be running for South East Cornwall . We will update you later after the race.

Cross Country Results Boconnoc on Friday 2nd February
A report by Kathy Hudson

A very big well done to all the runners at the race on Friday.

It really was one of the best races so far with many of the runners improving on their positions in the race results.  We have four entries to the south east Cornwall trials so that is fantastic news, they are:

Harriet Congdon who came 5th in the year ¾ girls.

Annabelle Gorham who came 9th in the year 5/6 girls

Olivia Wyman who came 11th in the year 5/6 girls.

Alice Austin who came 16th in the year 5/6 girls.

If anyone can support the girls at this event that would be fantastic as this a great achievement and a good news item for the school.

The race results for all entries at Friday's race are as follows:

We are all very pleased with the effort made on Friday and we would like to thank Roxy in year 6 who came along to make up the team so that the year 5/6 team would be included in the race results.  I know that I am unable to run at present but in a few weeks time I will be back on Saturday morning’s. I know that all the parents who have come along so far have really enjoyed running with the children and as the weather becomes warmer it is a great start to the weekend.

If you are interested in this extra session please talk to Jon or myself for more details. As it is out of school time we need the parent to run but please do not be put off you can walk/jog and go at your own pace. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Thank you to all the parents who take the time to take the children to the races the children could not do these events without you.

If you have any questions about cross country please do not hesitate to ask any of us at the training sessions.
