We have now completed four training sessions on a Tuesday afternoon and thought it appropriate that we give you a progress report and an overview on how the season will take shape... click here to read the newsletter Football: Landulph vs. Upton Cross Landulph School on the 30th November 2006 sadly suffered a tragic defeat. The score 5-2 to Upton cross. By half time they were 3-0 up. We were tired and weary, we tried our best but couldn’t beat them. Jordan Sweet scored a rebound off a penalty and Dan Peck scored quite a lucky deflection into the back of the net. Sadly this all came too late, hopefully we’ll do a bit and better next week. By Callum Aird (guest football correspondent) Harrow Barrow beat Landulph in a nail biting finish Landulph School travelled to Harrow Barrow to play an eagerly awaited football match. Harrow Barrow took the lead with a good finish in the early minutes. Landulph came back to score 5 minutes later when Callum Airds corner was flicked on by Sam Masters and Jordan Sweet who knocked the ball in over the head of the goalkeeper. Harrow Barrow scored seconds before half time with a scrambled goal. After the interval Harrow Barrow caught Landulph off guard twice, then a long throw from Callum Aird was took down on the chest by Jordan Sweet, who flicked the ball over the defence for a neat finish from Sam Masters. The game finished 4-2 to Harrow Barrow but Landulph School left with their heads high. Landulph snatch a last gasp winner over St.Dominic Landulph School football team won their 4th win on the bounce with a 3-2 win over St.Dominic with 2 late goals to win the game. St.Dominic took the lead with an embarrassing goal to concede for Landulph goalkeeper Dan O’Brien who left his legs open, the striker just poked it through his legs. Landulph came back with a wonderful set up for Sam Masters to score his first of the game. St.Dominic scored a 2nd before the break. After the interval, Landulph dominated the half then 5 minutes before the end Jordan Sweet was set through to slot it in to the bottom corner, Sam Masters scored his 2nd 2minutes from time with a ricocheted finish. Landulph celebrated vigorously and are going into the St.Mellion with their heads held high! Landulph Can Celebrate! On Tuesday May 1st Ian Holloway came to Landulph School to congratulate our football team for getting to the final of the South East Cornwall Small Schools cup. Mr Aird was Landulph School’s football team manager and he was congratulated by the manager of Plymouth Argyle Ian Holloway. At the end of the assembly they had their picture taken with Ian Holloway and Mr Aird. Never give up!! By Sam Masters
